(they/them)
I am a clinical herbalist currently based in Vancouver. I have worked with herbs for the last 8 years through growing gardens, making medicines, sharing medicines with community and using plants for my own personal healing. I am currently organizing as part of the Ecosystem Medicine Collective, providing herbal community care offerings in the Lower Mainland of BC. As someone with chronic health conditions, I was led deeper into the world of plants in search of help for my own healing. It was through deep relationship that I learned about the immense power plants have in supporting healing in all aspects of our lives.
I studied clinical herbalism for 2 years at Pacific Rim College and am in ongoing mentorship with Jasmyn Clift of Wild Seed School. I have also completed the Advanced Clinical Herbalism Training with Stascha Stahl, Ember Peters and Vilde Chaya. I give so much gratitude to all the teachers on my journey so far, including my mom, who raised me rooted in plant knowledge, and of course, to the plants themselves who are my greatest teachers.
My ancestry is Italian, Finnish/Sámi, Scottish, and Russian. My connection to plants and desire to work with them is influenced by my ancestral lineages, modern scientific understandings and my guiding belief that all types of healthcare be accessible to all people. Plants not only help us with our healing on a physical level, but also spiritually, mentally and emotionally. This is the foundation I rest on in my work with clients.
I do my best to bring a set of values into my work that are oriented towards justice and a deep commitment to equity and community care. My approach to herbal practice acknowledges the historical and ongoing injustices in health care and seeks to make herbal medicine accessible, inclusive, and respectful of diverse traditions and lived experiences.
My practice centers around two main questions:
How can herbs help our bodies/hearts/spirits heal? and;
How can plant medicine support the healing of communities, systems and the land?
I offer virtual consultations and can ship medicines, or work with you to find medicines in your local area. I have listed some concerns I feel confident supporting as examples. No matter what your experience or health needs are, we can work together collaboratively to find the best path forward for you!
